What this site stores on your device
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we only store non-essential things on your device after you’ve agreed. The site works without cookies, and nothing for measuring is stored until you choose Accept. Declining is as easy as accepting.
Essential items (no consent needed)
A couple of things are needed just to make the site work, so they don’t need your consent:
- Your cookie choice. When you choose Accept or Reject, we keep one small record of that choice on your device, so we don’t ask again. It isn’t shared with anyone.
- Your checkout details. While you’re ordering, the details you type are kept in your browser only, so they’re still there if you come back from the payment page without paying. They never leave your device until you place the order.
Measuring, only after you accept (non-essential)
We keep a simple first-party count of visits on our own server. Only if you accept do we also load Google Analytics (our own count, stored on Dear Motive’s server), which is non-essential and so needs your consent. Neither identifies you by name or address. If you reject, Google Analytics is never loaded.
Stripe’s own page
When you pay, you’re on a page run by Stripe, which sets its own cookies to take the payment safely. That’s covered by Stripe’s own notice on that page.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Clear this site’s data in your browser settings and we’ll ask again on your next visit; once you decline, Google Analytics stops loading. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
